When it comes to live music, there aren’t many cities out there that can match London for the sheer scale of venues on offer. Add to that the fact that the city is a must-play on the gig list of every rising and established musical act, and that means there’s great music available every night of the week in London.

And, with that in mind, we’ve together a guide to some of the best acts coming through London this October. You’re in a prime position to find them all from Finsbury Square Hotel, so read on!

U2

Coming to town as part of their ongoing ‘Experience + Innocence’ Tour, U2 will be at The O2 arena on the 23rd and 24th of October.

The tour is a showcase for the tunes from the band’s two latest albums, so you can expect a healthy helping of recent songs. But the group will also dip into all the classics you know and love, as U2 always make sure they cover their back catalogue in-depth at every show. Aside from the fantastic songs, you can also be sure that you’ll see a peerless show concerning staging, effects and multimedia performance. U2 is all about bringing strong visual elements to complement their live performances, and the result is always a peerless, breath-taking show. And, before you set out, you can get the evening off on the right foot with a couple of libations at the Montcalm Rooftop Bar.

Enrique Iglesias

Coming from strong musical stock – Enrique’s father was a famous and hugely popular performer – Iglesias brings unparalleled energy and excitement to every single show. He’s at The O2 area on Friday19th of October, and this is one show where you won’t want to leave your dancing shoes in your room at Finsbury Square Hotel.

At this point, Iglesias has sold tens of millions of albums with his infectious, Latin-influenced musical stylings, but the show is as much about the stagecraft of Iglesias as it is about the music. The tunes are catchy, stellar slices of pop, yes, but the show matches the songs every step of the way, making for a joyous celebration of life and music. And if you’re a little sore after dancing the night away, you’re in the ideal spot to sample Montcalm Spa Finsbury Square.

Paul van Dyk

Back in the late nineties and early noughties, Van Dyk established himself as one of the most successful trance and techno DJs in the world. He was one of the first, true superstar DJs and his powers haven’t waned with the passing years.

While Van Dyk prefers to eschew the ‘techno’ label for ‘electronic’ these days, that doesn’t mean he holds back on playing the dancefloor standards from many a clubber’s heydays. You can expect an amazing show, with older tunes peppered in amongst covers and newer material. Van Dyk always delivers a performance – and night – to remember, so make the short trip to Printworks London this 12th of October.
