Like many cities around the world, London is full of cyclists. From fitness fanatics to daily commuters, you’ll see hundreds of people travelling around the city on two wheels every day.

Tamsin Trail

Length: 7 miles

This scenic ride is the perfect route if you’re a nature lover or you’re hoping to escape the concrete jungle for an afternoon. The path takes you on a loop around the outside of London’s largest greenery, Richmond Park. If you’ve never visited the park before, this is a great opportunity to break away from the route and discover its gorgeous scenery and local wildlife. From wild birds to roaming deer, there’s plenty to see. This trail is perfect for a family bike ride so be sure to bring the kids along to Montcalm Royal London House-city of London.

Greenwich Thames Trail

Length: 26 miles

Some of the best views in London can be found alongside the famous River Thames and this route gives you an opportunity to get your fill of them. Start your journey in the beautiful area of Greenwich before putting your feet on the pedals and making your way alongside London’s mighty waterway. As you cycle down the Thames Path, you’ll come across landmarks and attractions such as the Cutty Sark, the Thames Barrier and the famous O2 Arena.

Westminster to Box Hill

Length: 25 miles

If you’re a lover of the countryside, there’s no better route than this. Start your day at the iconic Westminster Bridge and travel out of the city past Richmond Park and Hampton Court Palace which are both worth ticking off your bucket list. As you pedal, you’ll watch the transition from concrete to grass and cars to trees as you transition out of the city and into the beauty of the surrounding countryside. Box Hill is perfect for a day if you’re travelling with the kids.

Epping Forest

Length: 15 miles

Amongst London’s various greeneries, Epping Forest is one of the most popular for nature lovers. The scenic wonderland will make you forget that you’re in the heart of the busiest city in the UK. To escape the busy roads, head along the towpath that runs alongside the River Lea for some gorgeous views of quaint canal boats and natural scenery. If you’re looking to really make the most of your route, head to Epping Forest via the Olympic Park.

London to Brighton

Length: 60 miles

If you’re looking for a challenge, this route will test your skills and endurance. Not for the beginner, this path from the centre of London to the coast of Brighton is long and strenuous. However, if you feel up to the task, you will be rewarded with some of the most incredible views in Britain. Be sure to stock up on water and snacks before making your way through the South Downs and towards the coast. This is a full day’s expedition so be sure to clear your schedule.
