The Best Family-Friendly Venues for a Night Out in London

Finding places to eat and drink for the whole family can be hard in London. There are literally thousands of bars, pubs and restaurants, but many aren’t suitable for children or they just plain aren’t allowed in. This can be a little frustrating because families want to enjoy the big city as much as anyone else, and they deserve it too.

With that in mind, let’s look at some of the best places to take the whole family out for the evening that are close at hand to Montcalm London City.

Abeno Too

Who doesn’t love pancakes? Adults and children can get onboard with Abeno Too, which specialises in the Japanese specialty of ‘okonomiyaki’ – savoury, fluffy pancakes that come will all manner of savoury toppings.

The food is made at the table utilising a special hot plate and lots of flurries of movement as your server makes the meal before your eyes. Children will love it because it’s fun and different, and adults will be happy because the food is great. There’s lots of choice and there are branches in Bloomsbury and Covent Garden, so it’s not far to go.

Bistrotheque

This airy and bright eatery is exceedingly cool, but also very happy to cater to families. Bistrotheque serves up a seasonal menu, featuring items like steak tartare with chips and gem salad and leek pie with white truffle oil. There are simpler items available, but it’s also an awesome place to introduce the kids to some new flavours. It’s only 15-minutes from Montcalm London City, so it’s a quick hop from hotel to dinner.

They also have a great range of cocktails on offer, so you can indulge a little and always tell the kids its fruit juice.

Ottolenghi

Ottolenghi draws its culinary inspiration from the North Africa region, so you’re in for a flavour explosion if you decide on a visit. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner so you’re good to stop by anytime and they’re only 15-minutes from our hotels near Old Street Station.

The staff are super kid-friendly and it’s a great place to sample North African cuisine and maybe grab a few of their delicious cakes for later.

Masala Zone

The Covent Garden location of Masala Zone is just a 15-minute walk from any of our hotels near Old Street Station, Masala Zone makes some of the best curry London has to offer.  The restaurant offers tradition Indian food and has options for kids, should they not want too much spice.

The focus here is on a welcoming, warm atmosphere, whether you’re stopping by for lunch or dinner. Masala Zone tends to change up its menu regularly so you won’t find a menu online, but they offer grill selections, regional curries and authentic Indian deserts. It’s the perfect place to broaden your children’s palates, or just give them something they love if they’re seasoned lovers of Indian food. The food really is worth checking out.
