London City: Where to find free wi-fi connectivity during your trip

Wi-fi is an essential part of our daily lives, and if you’re off exploring everything that London has to offer, it’s something that you’ll need to have available - especially if you want to get directions to the best tourist attractions or buy tickets on the fly.

If you're staying with us at The Montcalm Royal London House, you’ll be able to enjoy free Wi-Fi in your room and other public areas of the hotel, but what happens if you’re out and about and need to be connected?

Here’s some of our top tips for free Wi-Fi in London and how you can take advantage of great quality connection all over the city.

Bus and Boat Tours

Bus tours are a fantastic way to discover an array of amazing London landmarks and attractions without walking all over the city, but what many people don't know is that many bus and boat tour companies also offer free Wi-Fi as part of their ticket price.

This is ideal for those who want to hop off the tour at designated stops to see more of a particular attraction. With on-board Wi-Fi, you can purchase attraction tickets online that will allow you to find out more about what's on offer and jump the queues too!

This is ideal for keeping you connected even after you’ve left our Old Street Hotel.

The London Underground

For those staying at the Montcalm Royal House London and looking to use the Tube to get around the city, there's even more good news when it comes to hooking up with free Wi-Fi. The London Underground network allows anyone using the Tube to connect during the duration of their journey, so it's a great way of sending photos of your trip to London with the folks back home.

InLink UK

One of the latest additions to the city of London is a range of old telephone boxes which have been given a revamp and have been transformed into free Wi-Fi hotspots. You’ll find these hotspots dotted all over the city, so you’re never far from free calls or internet browsing when you stay at our Old Street Hotel.

You can't miss the big digital boards that line many London streets offering free Wi-Fi, so keep your eyes peeled and you're sure to track down a hot spot as you explore the city on foot.

Local libraries

If the weather isn't looking too promising or you'd prefer to use your phone to connect to free Wi-Fi indoors, then London has plenty of local libraries where you can get online completely free of charge.

There are dozens of libraries located just a short Tube ride away from the Montcalm Royal London House, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to connect while you’re out exploring.

If you could use a short rest and a quick pick me up, many of London’s cafes also offer good quality free Wi-Fi for their paying customers, so grab a coffee and get connected.
