Things you need to bring to London if you only have carry-on

If you’re travelling to London for a weekend or maybe even just one night, it’s likely that you’ll try and pack as little as possible.

While you’ll have plenty of space in your room at The Montcalm Royal London House for all of your belongings, travelling light makes journeys less stressful and helps to ensure that you enjoy your trip.

There’s loads to see and do during a weekend break in London, so be sure to pack these essential items that will easily fit into your carry-on.

A Camera

With so many fascinating monuments and points of interest to visit near to The Montcalm Royal London House, taking a camera is essential for capturing some great shots to remember your trip by. We’ve rounded up some of the most photo-worthy spots to head to in London below.

South Bank

Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the South Bank and keep a camera close to hand to snap shots of the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, both of which look magnificent from this location.

Millennium Bridge

If the weather is nice, make your way a little further down the river and head onto Millennium Bridge, which is pedestrian only. From here you’ll be able to capture some great photos of Tate Modern and St Paul’s Cathedral.

Abbey Road

If you’re a Beatles fan, no trip to London would be complete without venturing here, where you’ll have the chance to recreate the Fab Four’s iconic album cover. Die-hard fans of the band will also love exploring the Abbey Road Studio Two, where a number of renowned artists have recorded music, including Oasis and Adele.

Comfortable shoes

While the transport links near to Hotel Finsbury Square are unbeatable, it’s likely that you will spend a lot of time on foot during a trip to London, especially as there are so many gorgeous outside spaces to explore. Get closer to nature and embrace the great outdoors in these areas.

Hyde Park

This Grade I listed park in the heart of London is perfect for a summertime stroll. While here you could even try your hand at boating, tennis and horse-riding.

Head to the meadow area of the park, where you will be able to see a captivating array of butterflies and birds.

St James Park

Situated in the City of Westminster, this park is the perfect place to take the kids for a day of exploring nature in all its glory. Pelicans have inhabited the park for nearly 400 years, so why not see if you can spot some while you make your way around?

A pen and paper

Whether you are an artist or an architect, London is the best city to be in when it comes to seeking out inspiration for your work. Be sure to pack a pen and paper for sketching or jotting down your ideas.

Street art in Shoreditch

Shoreditch is one of the best places for aspiring artists to visit as there is a huge array of work to be seen here. Visit Rivington Street to see pieces produced by world-famous Banksy.
