Top Tips For Parking In Shoreditch

London isn’t a city built for driving. Unlike American cities such as Los Angeles, London is more akin to the likes of Amsterdam or Venice where driving has been all but phased out. Although you’re bound to see buses, taxis and cars charging through the 1400 square kilometres of streets, the reality is that if you’re a guest of hotel packages London, there are many public transport options and driving deterrents in the form of expensive congestion charges in the centre of the city.

Nevertheless, tourists staying at hotels near Old Street London might find themselves having to drive to their accommodation. Though you’ll most likely be enjoying the sights and sounds of the city on foot, airport pickups, rental cars necessitated by luggage or large parties visiting the city in a minivan or tour bus will mean you may need somewhere to park your car during your visit. East London can become especially congested during peak times and the narrow streets can make navigating the city’s roads very stressful. That’s why this blog will outline the main and most accessible car parks in London and ensure that you have somewhere safe and secure to park during your visit.

Finsbury Square

Unfortunately for guests at the Montcalm Royal London House, the hotel itself does not have on-site parking. There is, however, parking just across the street beneath Finsbury Square. Whilst day rates are a whopping £55 for 24 hours, hotel guests can receive a 50 percent discount when they check out of their accommodation, making parking close to your hotel a lot more affordable.

Great Eastern Street

Located just a stone’s throw from Shoreditch High Street Station, the Great Eastern Street NCP lot is a multi-storey car park that accommodates reasonable prices in the heart of London. Here you’ll find on the day parking from £5 for an hour up to £22 for between 3 and 24 hours. You’ll find a considerable £2 to £1 discount if you book in advance over the ParkPass App. Great Eastern Street’s NCP is also kitted out with electric car charging points and has a maximum height of 1.98 metres.

Leonard Street Car Park

Parking along Leonard Street is limited and has a maximum stay of 2 hours, but puts you in proximity to Shoreditch High Street Station and many of the amenities of Shoreditch and Old Strete. Leonard Street then is perfect for a quick shopping trip or business meeting and has prices ranging from 10 minutes for 82p and an hour for £4.95. Leonard Street’s Parking is open from 8.30 to 18.30 from Monday to Saturday and has overnight stays priced at £2.40 between 18.30 and 06.30. Leonard Street’s Parking is free on bank holidays.

Broadgate Parking

Located close to Shoreditch, Liverpool Street Station and the business hubs of the City of London, Broadgate’s Parking is located underneath Broadgate Tower and even has its own valet service if you are willing to pay a little extra. Broadgate Parking is open 24 hours a day and has a variety of prices. These are 0-2 Hours for £20, 2-4 Hours for £30, 4-6 Hours for £45, 6-12 Hours for £50 and 12-24 Hours for £55. You can also enjoy a range of deals on monthly permits and more that will save you a considerable amount of money if you are planning on frequenting the area by car.

Clere Street Car Park

Clere Street’s Union Car Park is ideally located between the tech hubs of Old Street and its station as well as Shoreditch High Street, making it a multifaceted spot for parking. Owned by Union Car Parks group, this multi-storey lot is open between Monday and Friday from 06.30 to 19.00 and on Saturdays between 07.00 and 17.00. Prices range from an hour for £4.50, 1-2 hours for £8 and £11 for all-day parking meaning the duration of the opening times. If you want to park overnight here, the extra charge will be £10 on top of your prior charge.

Barbican Car Park

The Barbican Car Park is ideal for visitors to the world-renowned cultural centre but is also a prime car parking space for those visiting the wider area of Shoreditch, the Overground station for which is just a 13-minute walk away. The car park is open 24 hours and has rates from 1 Hour for £5.00, 2 hours for £7.50, 3 hours for £10.00, 4 hours for £12.50, 5 hours for £15.00 and 24 hours for £34.00.
