Originally opened in 1348, The Charterhouse was created to serve as a monastery. But, over time, the site has seen multiple uses and all of that history is on display. Throughout the centuries, The Charterhouse has been a private residence, a boys-only school and an Almshouse – and it still fulfils that purpose today.

The Guildhall

Still the official residence of the Mayor of London, the Guildhall is a magnificent piece of architecture and, arguably, even more stunning on the inside.

Inside, the Guildhall is full of beautifully carved stone, lush carpets and dramatic chandeliers – just as you might expect for the Mayor of one of the biggest cities in the world.
