Three Different Ways to Experience London near to RLH

When it comes to getting out and experiencing London, there are lots of ways to sample the city. From the Tube to bus tours to walking tours, no one could say there is a shortage of options for taking in the capital.

But, sometimes, you want to do things that are a little outside of the norm. And you’re in luck because there are other, different ways to explore the capital and all it has to offer beyond the usual offerings. Best of all, all of our suggestions are easy to reach from Montcalm Royal London House.

Tate to Tate Boat

London is home to two Tate galleries – the Tate Modern and the Tate Britain – and this unique boat tour shuttles you between both. Getting to the Bankside embracement point only takes about 15-minutes from Royal London House, and it’s an experience that’s worth the short journey.

The Tate to Tate Boat leaves about every 40 minutes, and part of the experience here is taking in the major London sights as you move between two of London’s most famous and well-regarded art galleries. The boat has an open deck so that you can grab some fantastic photos of Westminster Palace, St Paul’s, London Bridge and more. The Tate to Tate Boat is the easiest and quickest way to see the two famous galleries, and it’s a unique, different way to take in some of London culture.

London Duck Tours

If you’re seeking a land and water perspective on the capital – while receiving expert insight from your guide – then London Duck Tours is the option for you. Afterwards, if you're peckish after all that exploring, you’re only a ten-minute journey from the best Finsbury Square restaurants.

Making use of World War Two amphibious vehicles – hence the ‘Duck’ moniker – London Duck Tours first takes you on a land-based sightseeing tour of the major sights you want to cover, covering Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace among others. From there, the tour moves to the water and proceeds along the Thames for a different perspective on the capital.

London Duck Tours are enormous fun and offer an experience unlike anything else you can find in London.

Rickshaw Tours

As London is one of the greenest capital cities in the world, it’s not surprising that human-powered conveyance has found a place in the capital.

Carrying up to three passengers, Rickshaw Tours are a brilliant, offbeat way to experience London from the ground level. London Rickshaws offers a comprehensive range of tours, covering everything from classic sightseeing destination to a tour focused on taking you to the capitals most famous museums. Or, if you’re a little more literary minded, there’s even a specific Sherlock Holmes tour, covering all the famous locales features in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famed detective stories.

Rickshaws are an eco-friendly, different and fun way to see London and there’s nothing like getting in amongst the bustle of the city to feel like you’re getting the authentic London experience.
