There's nowhere quite like London in the run-up to Christmas.

With beautifully decorated storefronts at some of the world's best-known department stores to lavish light displays that line the streets, there's plenty of great places around London to get you in the festive spirit and help you make a start on your holiday shopping.

Here’s our top five shopping spots and a few city of London facts just in time for your Christmas shopping expedition.

Oxford Street

Packed full of big brands and a few designer labels, Oxford Street is a mecca for fashionistas and serious shoppers. It's one of the busiest shopping areas in London, and you can find pretty much anything and everything from the vast array of high street retailers that line this bustling street.

Oxford Street is just a fifteen-minute Tube ride from our hotels near Liverpool Station, so you can easily head back to your room to drop off those heavy shopping bags.

Carnaby Steet

There are so many city of London facts about Carnaby Street, but the area is best known as the birthplace for the fashion and cultural revolution of the 1960s.

Carnaby Street is the go-to holiday shopping area if you’re looking for something a little different, as there’s plenty of independent boutiques and quirky shops to visit where you’re sure to find the perfect gift for the folks back home.

Mayfair

If you're really looking to splash out this Christmas, then head to Mayfair. This upmarket area is famed for its high property prices and notable past residents. Today, you'll find a variety of luxury designer brands and ornate festive storefronts to enjoy during your visit.

Just don’t forget to bring that credit card!

Regent Street

Although Regent Street doesn’t tend to get quite as busy as Oxford Street, it’s still a great shopping spot for both high-end luxury and high street brands.

Enjoy the festive atmosphere and beautiful street lights during the holiday season as our hotels near Liverpool Station are just fourteen-minutes away from nearby Oxford Circus via Tube.

Westfield - Stratford

If the weather is less than perfect during your visit to London, you might want to head a little further out of the city to enjoy some undercover retail therapy. The Westfield Shopping Centre located in Stratford combines all of the high-street brands you’d expect from a large shopping centre with a few luxury labels too.

To get to Westfield Stratford from Liverpool Street Station, take the Central Tube line to Stratford Station which comes through every three minutes and you’ll reach your destination in just over fifteen minutes. If you’ve got a little spare time on your hands or just fancy a change from trawling around the shops seeking out that perfect Christmas gift, then the Olympic Park is located nearby and hosts a wide range of events throughout the year.
